A visit to SLWRC

I took a trip to San Luis National wildlife refuge Complex. I never seen such a massive reservation before: over 40,000 acres of preserved land. I saw a few elk and lots of birds of all kinds. My fiance and I traveled from town to find a a very quiet and free place to fish and we believe we have found it. there is 9 sections or spots that you can fish on the San Joaquin River. Open space and hardly anyone around. I recommend it for anyone who would like to get away from the town and cities and get back to nature even for a brief time.

visit to Micke Grove Zoo

Hi:

  I have been going over some pics i did last year during the late summer and i found pics i wish to share. My fiance and i went to the Micke Grove Zoo and was slightly disappointed. We payed our fees to go inside and half of the exhibits are closed down. There were not that many animals in the enclosures and most looked like there were in poor repair.if i was to pick a number from 1 to 10, I  would give it a 5. The zoo good place to give kids an idea what a zoo is like, but if you want to see more animals, pay a little extra and go to the Sacramento Zoo. On the other hand, the Japanese and rose garden is very pretty. During spring through fall months the variety of flowers and plants in the Japanese garden is very beautiful.  I recommend going to the gardens themselves.

trying different subject

Hi everyone;

     I tried something different for a subject: houseplant. In my opinion it was a little to dark but a nice painting.

I might look for other things to paint. any suggestions will be welcome.

First time blogger

I am an amature artist and 41 years old.  My main interests is landscape themes and am inspired by the artist Bob Ross. Since 2 years ago I started to explore acrylic painting and photography. After that I looked into other pics and media for inspiration. Now i seek feedback on my artwork.

This is my current collection and working to create more. Any suggestions and comments are welcome.
